TORRANCE, California — The 2017 Toyota Yaris iA compact sedan is on the way to Toyota dealerships with a starting price of $16,815, including an $865 destination charge.

The Yaris iA is the rebadged Scion iA. Toyota discontinued the Scion brand in February.

The base price is for a Yaris iA with a six-speed manual transmission. The Yaris iA with a six-speed automatic transmission is priced at $17,915, including the destination fee..

The Yaris iA is $320 more expensive than the outgoing 2016 Scion iA.

Toyota said the Yaris iA will remain "monospec" for the 2017 model year. Details include 16-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen display audio system, remote keyless entry with push-button start and a rearview camera.

A new exterior color is Chromium, a silver shade.

The Yaris iA is equipped with a 106-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

Key Yaris iA rivals include the Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and Honda Civic.
