Bluelinelife...
I understand your thoughts. I have shared them myself. ****, I have even said the same on here lol.
I have also considered picking up another MX-5 and tossing the turbo in it instead....

But, the iA is my project car. So, hey... I need to push the lines and see what we can do.

I've heard we should be fine under 10 PSI of boost. I'm aiming for half that.

Worst case scenario... I'll bulk up the motor more to withstand the abuse.
I have the header/manifold design written up. I just ordered a new cartridge for the turbocharger.
I am not pleased with the oil build up in the used one. So, I am making progress.
Also, I have decided to keep the scroll speed to a minimum and allow for high air cooling...
I will be fabricating a new hood.
That's my next step. Raise the bay and create a crossbeam to mount the toys to.
I'll keep you all posted as I make progress... but I'm not rushing it.

So, I am not really the car modding sort quite frankly; however, I have heard that it could be beneficial to add an "oil catch can" to this car in order to reduce build up of deposits and possibly increase the longevity of the engine. Have any of you done this and or have any thoughts on whether or not it's a worthwhile endeavor?

isn't a "oil catch can" pretty much a turbo thing ?

From my understanding it's just something for cars that are "GDI", and from what i am read or seen on the internet people seem to say that it matters most when a car is pushed hardest (so it's usually something people put on tuner cars. But I assume our cars tiny engine is probably working pretty hard all the time just to maintain reasonable speeds in traffic? lol.

Basically got all my information from youtube videos such as the below, which is why i'm trying to validate it with opinions from people who don't necessarily stand to gain from ad revenue or sponsorships:

I very much like the idea of a rear sway bar but I very much MORE dislike the idea of drilling holes in suspension members.

I very much dislike the tiny tachometer off to the side in the middle of the glare patch from the window, the cluster with the big central tach appeals to me greatly, but I have no clue how to get one to Indianapolis.

the seat sits me an inch or two too high, having an upholstery pro shave foam and refit the cover is a thing I am looking at.

the shift lever setup doesn't feel right, I haven't figured out what it needs yet.

I like the notion of rear disk brakes, but the stock brakes work fine for me so far, more concerning to me is the rear end unsprung weight. would disks add or remove weight at the wheel ?
