Oh, and as a coincidence, there was another iA there getting tires at the same time as me. The other iA was getting a set of Goodyears in the same 195/55/16 size.

Check out my post on tires...

Summary for the avg driver, no difference will be notice on 195/55/16 and 205/55/16.. those are the best options to stock.. I'm not sure the exact figure, (check my post on tires) it's +/- .03 % difference.. marginal at best. Hope that helps

See my form pics for 195/50/16's. These tire really wake up the handling on the iA but there is a penalty of 3 mph on speed o. will lower overall gearing a little and help the car of the line. You lose a couple of mpg's. Makes the iA a little sports car. freeway cruising is fine because car is geared really high already. Little firmer on buns.

Walmart is buy the book. They won't do anything to a car if it isn't in the manual. So this tire size must be an "ok'd option". I was receiving a couple of quotes, getting ready to make a purchase this spring but today I read about the whole tire size fiasco and almost decided against the vehicle....still not sure now. All because of a bad decision on Mazda/Toyota's part to use an obscure tire size. I'm going to see if there are legitimate options before I buy this thing....

sorry I did miss tape- 205x45x17. 55 will still be just fine- as long you don't drop suspension like i did- even so I think 55 still would be ok

i have 205x45x17+ 20mm spacers in the rear- better handling and appearance!. Unfortunately 20mm spacers looking to big for the front with mine summer wheels, so to be safe going to instal 10mm in front for the summer.
