No reason, same car, different badges. The recipe hasn't changed, just its presentation.

Was looking for anything new for the Scion iA and I came across a few used iA ads. Why would anyone want to return it?
It's a great sedan for an amazing value!

You never know people's circumstances but I often wonder the same about brand new cars that are now for sale used. In the end, their loss is someone else's gain because they can buy a basically brand new car for a much cheaper price than it would be new.

If it's from a Scion/Toyota dealer, there's a chance that it's a demo car which they want to get rid of instead of allowing to rack up mileage that further depreciates its price.

You really think that a vehicle could have racked up so many miles already as a demo when the car is so new?

There are some that are demo units at car shows etc.. I bought a Mazda MX-5 a few years back with 4,000 miles on it that was used for that purpose.

2016 Scion iA (Smazda), Sterling Silver, 6-Spd Manual Transmission.

That's not bad at all, I just hope it wasn't abused in those 4,000 miles. One thing i'm always concerned about with demos.

Oh, it most certainly was. Unfortunately I didn't realize how bad until I got it home. It had been used for one of those Autocross demo events that Mazda holds (Zoom Zoom Live events) I'm pretty sure. I noticed that around the wheel lugs, it had numerous scratches and dings which leads me to believe the tires had been replaced several times.... In 4K miles. :-/

Luckily the lil Mazda still was reliable and I had a blast while I had it. And since I autocross anyway, I guess it didn't really bother me much. *shrug*

Those scratches aren't really acceptable. I hope that was factored into the discounted price of the vehicle.
