Clanking noise coming from rear of car.

It's been two weeks 330 miles so far. Automatic. I notice today while at idle the car makes this pinging noise as if it's coming from the exhaust. Has anyone else had this or is aware of anything similar. Thanks!

Like mentioned above it might just be from the heat shield since after driving for some time the engine and surrounding parts get hot enough that once shut off, it goes through some massive drop in temperature and through that you get the pinging sound. Usually that sound decreases with the cooler the engine and surrounding parts get.

I took it too dealership. They say the purge valve. It was it sounds like which has to do with fuel. I haven't heard the noise again. I'll try again when I put new fuel. Which will be in two to three weeks. Fuel saver the ia is. Thanks.

The purge valve... that's really odd. But lol that fuel efficiency is pretty darn impressive haha

Purge valve controls the amount of fuel vapours that get purged from the charcoal canister.

Part of the EVAP system
