I just got a new Sterling Scion iA and I love it a lot so far. It's already pretty quick on the highway because of how light it is, but I'm interested in taking it a little further if that's possible. I'm thinking something along the lines of a new exhaust system or cold air intake...maybe even an ECU tuning. Whatever would net be the biggest horsepower bump.

I know this car has little potential speed wise so it might not even be worth it..but if the numbers are right I'm all for it. What's everyone's experience with this?

Aesthetically I'd like to get tints, new rims, and lower it by an inch or so so I'll invest my money in this if there is no worthwhile HP boost.

Thanks guy!

I wouldn't say "little" potential speed wise. Anything has a drastic potential, especially now a days with the technology we have. The parts may not be out just yet, but they will be in a little bit.

But welcome to the forums nonetheless, let's see some pictures up here !

I don't have dyno figures or anything but I would estimate, only estimate, about 15% increase. I have noticed that my gas mileage does go down when I romp on it, this little car is fun! When I am gentle on the throttle I can consistently break 45 MPG on the readout. It has been fun and I have learned quite a bit. The personalized tuning and learning can be factored in to the price which has made it worth it in my opinion along with he increased power and drivability.

What are some of the cheapest ways to improve power on this car? I can't exactly afford $500 for OV Tuning at the moment, but for now, I'd like to know of some cheaper methods of making my car go a bit more zoom zoom. I live in California so certain cold air intakes are illegal too. Also, my friend suggested I get a muffler delete for some cool sounds. What exactly does a muffler delete do other than the sound? Also, how much would it cost to turbo the engine? Would it make the car less reliable? Is it hard to do? I've got lots of questions about increasing performance and power on this wonderful little car so sorry for all asking all this, lol.

I just finished my first tune with the guys over @ Orange Virus. They put a lot of effort into their work. I would say the price is worth it especially considering you are getting the hardware and the hours they put into updating your tune remotely.
As for warranty issues, the fact is unless you are actually trying to get silly with your car... you don't have anything to worry about.

I spoke with a guy at the toyota dealership, and I myself used to work for Cadillac a couple years back. The mechanics don't study these things every time you go in for an oil change or such. It's if you blew up your motor (which would even still take a lot of effort). Toyota actually suggested it, just they are limited as a dealership on
what Toyota would let them do without being personally liable.

Either way, you can always revert a custom tune anyhow.
But those are just my thoughts.
From air intake, to rims, to tuning... all performance enhancements run upwards of a $300 from what I have seen...
