I am trying to add car play to my 2016 IA has anybody else done this here? I updated my software to the newest software available from Mazda. (Unfortunately I did loose the blue color scheme that’s only available for the Scion IA. My radio is working flawlessly. Even fixed the dreaded boot loops that we all know and love. And now it shows the Mazda logo and startup and shutdown) I am looking to purchase the CarPlay retro fit I’m looking at one on Amazon that says for all Mazda 4 door sedans 2014-2020. Anybody have any experience with doing this? I’m just a little uneasy about which one to purchase. I know my IA is a Mazda. But I’m just worried that maybe they don’t have the same exact CMU in the scions as in their Mazdas. Anybody have any clue on this? Or maybe have done this for themselves?

Hi, I have a 2018 Yaris IA and you have to change your USB ports to make Carplay works, i installed this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KRPSRKH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works perfectly.

There's something you can do where you download a software online into a USB. Then connect the USB into your car and it'll download android/apple auto into your car's computer. It's free and it beats the hassle of installing a retrofit. Let me know if you're intrested and I'll link the post on reddit and YouTube vid that guided me step by step. It's really easy. The only lame thing is you need to have your phone connected to the car via the USB port for it to work. But it's a plus since your phone will be charging at all times. Lol
