I was wondering why with my iPhone 6 I can't send or receive text messages through the car, but my mother's android can. Also, is there a way to get Apple CarPlay? My understanding is the car isn't compatible from the factory... That's one of the only features I really miss from my civic, accord, and camaro... That and the sunroof/convertible...

You have to turn on an option on the phone. Press the i and mark show notifications... See photos.

I did that the other day, but the car still won't send or receive text messages... only let's me view notifications... I have my aunt's truck for the weekend (2014 ram 1500) and it let me send and receive messages via bluetooth after enabling the show notifications option, and then connect with Apple CarPlay through USB then bluetooth after unplugging the USB... Don't know why the iA won't let me send or receive messages...
