The 2016 Scion iA doesn't come with a CD player (single CD), does it? I am still considering buying a 2016 Scion iA, so I am obviously perusing ads and lately these dealers I'm looking at online are advertising iA's for 2016 with CD players. That's not true, is it?

Interesting - I just checked the dealer in Denver I would buy at and checked the online ad out for the color and tranny of 2016 Scion iA I want, and, it says that the car does have a (single) CD player. Have I learned something new about the 2016 Scion iA, now, after 6 months of intense scrutiny?

People still buy CDs? :D

But seriously- you could plug literally anything into the AUX jack, including a portable player if you wanted.

Yes, I do. But not having a CD player is no deal-killer, guys, don't worry!

The Japanese Mazda 2 (Demio) has a CD Player, as does the Mazda CX-3. I had thought about grabbing it (and the associated surround/wiring harness) out of a wrecked CX3, but since I don't use a lot of CDs anymore, I have kind of suspended my research.

You can see it here below the A/C controls:

Thanks for the input richardrsp! I think several dealers need to check their ads for errors. My wife and I have a lot of CD's - our '11 Kia Soul has a CD player and we occasionally play them in our DVD player or on the desktop at home. But I wouldn't mess with it - I would just get something digital/bluetooth working in fairly short order.

I had mine about 3 days before I realized it didn't have a CD player, which is okay by me. I had a 6CD player in my Pontiac, and actually had 6CDs in it on a road trip once. My granddaughter who at the time was about 8 and she asked me if she could bring a CD to play while we ran errands. She had a burned CD of some type of awful stuff. When we tried to get it out, it was stuck and it stayed stuck for the next 5-6 years, still not working when I sold it about 2 weeks ago.

I was under the impression that the 2017 Yaris iA isn't available with a CD player, so I was surprised to see it referenced in the owner's manual, including a few pages of instructions for operating the player. Now I'm trying to figure out if some are made with CD players. Could they only be available in certain regions? Or is the info in the owner's manual out of date?

In the meantime, I experimented with connecting a portable player to the aux input. It worked OK but I'll need to try a player that can handle bumps better because the one I used skipped quite a bit.

I know that the vehicle is platformed the same as the Mazda CX-3 and I have seen the CD player available for the Mazda 2 as the car is sold in other markets. I believe that's why it would be referenced in the owner's manual because I'm sure it was a copy and paste from other regions of the world.
