Got my windows tinted today... wish I went darker with the windshield but oh well. Now I'm thinking an escort passport 9500ci (my 9500ix would screw up the tint if mounted to the windshield and the mirror mount won't work), maybe a gloss black roof and dark brushed aluminum rims (but not too dark) at some point but not sure yet. The tint is 15% rear and sides, 5% strip on the windshield and 80% on the rest of the windshield.

No, the whole thing is tinted, the strip is 5% and the rest is 80%, sun is brutal down here and even just the 80% helps keep the car cool when it's parked outside while I'm at work.

That's pretty cool. Unfortunately where I'm located we're not allowed to have any tint on the front windshield. I think the strip you can get away with but not anything over the rest of it

Usually they won't bother you for tint, when I lived in Jersey (where you can have the strip at the top but nothing on the rest or the front windows) I always had 80% on the front windows and a 25% strip and they never said anything at the yearly inspection. Down here in Florida, the law is 25% on the back windows and the windshield strip with nothing on the rest of the windshield, and 35% on the front windows
In my trucks, I had 10% tint on the front windows, 5% on the back and the windshield strip, and 45-50% on the windshield, and in my cars I've always done 15% all the way around with 80% on the windshield and 5% for the strip. Down here though, almost everyone has illegal tint (most people go 20% for everything with a 20% strip on the windshield) except in Madeira Beach (from what I've heard, that's one of the only places in florida people really get pulled over for tint) but I've personally travelled the USA and Canada with my cars and my trucks and never gotten pulled over for tint (but I got a ticket for tint, the cop caught me doing 95 in a 70 and let me off with a ticket for illegal tint instead of the speeding ticket)

Usually they'll bother you if it's obviously really dark, like Police vehicle dark, but at the end of the day it depends on the cop, some have no proper judgement and some just don't care.

I think it depends where you are too, here the cops don't have tinted windows (but state troopers do) and they really don't care. The 15% is obviously illegal and a lot darker than the legal 35%, and the 5% on my mom's car is definitely illegal and you can tell from far away, but down here they just don't care. Almost all of them have illegal tint on their vehicles too, and they get why everyone does it so they don't see the need to ticket you for tint.

Gave her a quick rinse at the nearby coin wash. I plan on eventually hand washing using the two bucket method, clay bar, and wax. I'm a student and live in an apartment complex so no access to shade or hose. I feel awkward hand washing at the coin wash but I just saw two people doing so at 9 pm at night. Maybe I'll do it too later this week. I want my baby to shine!
