Sis just bought a 2016 Scion iA m/t. I have dug through this forum and reddit, and the rest of the good ol' web, but haven't seen any recent posts about a tune on an iA. OVtuning says on their homepage that they are no longer accepting anything but Toyotas. I am assuming since Mazda engine, that these don't count. Has anyone recently gotten a tune from them?

Are there other tunes or tuners anyone has tried / liked?

A tune is not the first thing she wants to do, but its definitely on the list, after reading about how detuned the car is for the US market. . . On that note, is it possible to snag the JDM mazda 2 tune? or is the ecu/car different enough that it wont work?

I guess in addition to that question, what other mods do you all do for gainz? (weight, power, handling, etc). Wheels are second on the list, after a slightly louder muffler.

I'll go out on a limb and assume not much tuning will further be available for the iA since Toyota is discontinuing it. It's already a niche market of sub-compact enthusiast. No more sales is probably the nail in the coffin.

I have a 2019 I bought new. Dragged my feet ordering the tune from OV.. Now they are not supporting Mazda at all.

I searched and found a place called DRTuned Racing that might be able to do it. I just got their reply to my initial email today. They do not have any development already done for the 1.5, but feel their stuff is probably compatible and might be able to give it a try. I guess I'll try to keep you guys posted.

If anyone else has experience here, I'm all ears!

PS, The only other thing I've done for performance so far is fit some 16x7 wheels and 205/55 sport tires. Been doing some autocrosses this year with my much younger little brother. The car is not competitive obviously, but astonishingly capable considering it's meager specs. Very neutral and put together considering how soft the stock suspension is! I had low expectations and have been very pleasantly surprised.
