JD Power released its 2015 Quality Study, and unfortunately Scion didn't do so great. The study measures how many problems per 100 vehicles each brand experiences on average.
The industry average was 112 problems per 100 vehicles. Scion came in below average with 124 issues per 100 vehicles. Here is what AutoGuide had to say about Scion.

Fiat and smart are the worst though. with 161 and 154 issues per 100 vehicles respectively. So compared to that, Scion ain't doing that bad.Another sub-brand that struggles despite having a strong parent brand is Scion. With 124 problems reported per 100 vehicles, Scion lands in the ninth position, but improves significantly compared to last year’s 140 problems and fourth place finish. Toyota, which is Scion’s parent brand, is ranked above the industry average of 112 problems with an initial quality of 104.
