Hey YARIS IA team! Hope you all are doing well, thanks for having me here, straight to the topic, I'm interested in owning a 2018 Toyota Yaris IA, This car has a SALVAGE TITLE! here in my location, before ending the deal, I really want to make sure that I'm getting a good reliable car for what I pay, I want to know that what I should be looking for when purchasing this YARIS, anything to take into consideration, what to look for or any suggestion you guys have, please share it with me,

They are asking for the price of $9,800 and it has 69000 Miles with a Salvage Title. Is it worth it or not?
If you guys have any suggestions on what to look at.
thanks

I'm not sure what a salvage title is, but... The car has lots to recommend it. Our family owns two. We average about 40 mpg, have hd no issues in three years and really enjoy driving them.
One thing though- the oil tends to accumulate some gasoline from above and rises steadily on the dipstick between changes. I change it every 3k for this reason, but still come out ahead of average because of the fuel economy. The engines have a promising history of reliability, looking back to 2014 in the Mazda 2 and 3 and Miata family, whence the iA comes. Fun to drive, economical, nice to look at!

A salvage title could be huge problems or just stuff that was able to be safely fixed. Have a good mechanic check it out.

I have 2 Mazda 3s with basically the same engine plus the iA. They have all been great cars. I love the iA (the prior name for the Yaris). Absolutely no problems. I would buy another without a concern.

Find out why it has a salvage title and get it checked out.

The price seems high for for the mileage and the salvage title should knock another 3,000 or so off. (my guess)

The damage doesn't look that serious, but what do you guys think, is it worth the price or a pass?

According to the insurance company the cost to repair was 18,000. There must have been a lot of damage underneath.

Per kbb, a salvage title should reduce the value 20 to 40%.

I wouldn't pay more then 70% of what a similar mileage clean title car would cost assuming you can confirm they fixed everything underneath.

Also keep in mind, prices are coming down.
