I hate it when I take passengers in the back of my iA and my floor mats end up looking like this! The floor mats are still good and don't feel like replacing them.
Found a solution to my headache and ordered these bad boys from Amazon for around $10 USD: AUTOXBERT 4X Universal Car Mat Clips/Fixings/Fasteners Floor Twist Lock L Shape
First I grabbed some painters tape and traced 4 circles from the clips with a Sharpie. Folded the tape circles to create an X in the middle and marked it with a dot.
Placed the tape circles 1-1/2" from the edge of the floor mat. For the other edge of the mat facing the middle where it curves up, I placed it an inch away before it starts sloping up. Repeat the same for the other floor mat.
I took out the floor mats and placed them on a piece of wood. With a drill motor and a 1-1/4" hole saw, I started to drill out the holes.
Once the holes have been cut out, I snap on the top and bottom of the clips. I placed the floor mat down and insert a penny as a reference to see where the nail of the final clip goes thru the carpet.
At this point, it's a matter of just twisting the locks in place.
This is the final look.
