Scion Service Boost is more than a complimentary maintenance plan. It's freedom to take to the road knowing that your Scion will receive proper care by trained technicians using Genuine Scion Parts, and that you'll receive roadside assistance should you need it during the coverage period.[2]

Scion Service Boost includes:
◦Normal factory-recommended maintenance services[3] up to 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first
◦Complimentary 24-Hour Roadside Assistance[4] for up to 2 years[5] from the date of purchase
◦Maintenance performed by trained technicians who know your vehicle the best, using Genuine Scion Parts
◦Service reminders mailed to you prior to your next scheduled service

Since I live in a big city, it looks like i'll definitely see those 2 years much more sooner than the 25,000 miles, since most of my monday-friday use is driving to the train station and running a few local errands... if any.

Not many, although you can view it almost as discounting in reverse. Instead of discounting the price to project 'value' they offer maintenance as value instead. I prefer the maintenance to be honest...
This probably helps them more, folks on a budget big enough to buy one of these, it leaves them without much to worry about for the next couple years. Good incentive.

And that's one of the main reasons to buy a new inexpensive car under warranty -- guaranteed costs thanks to the warranty. Really helps budgeting.

yes.

much unlike say... buying a used car and you are in no way mechanically inclined where you don't know what could go wrong and when and when things happen... who knows what it'll cost and how long it'll take.

predictable and affordable ownership is key

Exactly. A buddy of mine bought an 8 year old BMW 5-Series a few months back. Then he was wacked with $8,000 USD in unexpected repairs, on an only 8 year old car. You just never know. The Scion iA guarantees my transportation costs will stay low.

Private sale I assume? CPO cars will come with a factory backed warranty, BMW actually has one of the best CPO programs in the game...Granted their CPO's are lease returns usually 2-4 years old...

Having worked on the service end of it all and seeing the work they do to officially make it a certified CPO, you can't go wrong with a CPO BMW. Only downside is how much more you'll pay than buying a used BMW privately, but then again that extra you pay means little effort on your part to make sure it all checks out.

Good for those not as mechanically inclined or with limited automotive knowledge.
