Park your cars in gear! I know it's bad for the tranny but if your parking brake snaps like mine did (who knows, it could be a common issue like with the Edsels, only time will tell at this point) you could hit something, thankfully we had a slow day at work so nobody was parked infront of me and the car just stopped in the middle of the aisle without any damage to itself or anything else. Taking it to Toyota first thing Monday morning. From now on I'll be parking my iA in gear (and hopefully the trans is strong enough to hold the car in my driveway- we'll see when I get home, it might roll like my cousins Acura when it's parked in gear with no parking brake on the hill) and tomorrow I'll finally have my garage door fixed so I don't have to put my trans under that much stress in my driveway.

I've always had a force of habit of parking in gear solely because of bad experiences with a parking brake snapping or just not holding as well as I thought it was. It's always a good extra safety measure. Raise the hand brake first and then drop it into gear.

Glad to hear everything was okay though !
