Good news for Porsche or disaster for Scion?

Seven years ago the 'youth' oriented Scion brand eclipsed 100,000 annual sales in the USA by selling tC's and xB's to retirees. Now they've sold less cars then Porsche through September.

The picture has darkened over the last year, through the first eight months of 2014 Scion was 10,000 cars up on Porsche. Through the first 8 months of 2015 Scion trails by 2,200 units.

Granted this plays out as Porsche is posting record sales numbers on the back of baby Macan. Has Scions need for a crossover ever been more clear?

I thought Toyota is coming out with a 2016 Scion Crossover. Or did I misread something?

Check back again once the iA and iM have been on sale for a bit. Porsche is a great company that sells tons of vehicles, and Scion is renewing their line up to regain volume, so given the state of things right now, this does not surprise me.

Not surprised one bit, I actually see way more new Porsche's than I do of any Scion's. But with the iA and iM it seems like that could slowly change. If Scion keeps this up they could out pace Porsche.

Neither Scion nor Porsche really care about this. They aren't competing. This is just a comparison for the sake of it. Interesting, but not indicative of much.

Good look at the two in a way due to the nature of both brands although Porsche has been stepping up with more volume products.

Any idea what brand would be best to compare scion with?
