Interesting question. I have 26,000 miles on mine and occasionally it acts similar to yours. The next week it is as good as new.
I always attributed it to bad gas. We are fairly remote so the gas stations don’t get as frequent deliveries and we fill up infrequently (as evidenced by 26,000 miles in 5 years.) Could this be your problem?
In either case it may be more apparent in our iAs due to the low power that might mask the symptoms in more powerful cars.
I may try new spark plugs. My approach is to go into the auto parts store and find out the price of the different level of quality parts that work with my car. I will either buy what they tell me is the best or the second best depending on the price difference. Clearly not the best approach.
